MerMay has arrived

Letters from across the water

Hey Old Sport, it’s Mer-May 🌊

I wanted to get into the season’s theme for this month’s postcard and sticker. For the postcard, I went with a 1900-1910s inspired mythological vibe where a pirate Gatsby, and his first mate aka Old Sport find a merman with a striking resemblance to the captain.

Then I came up with a merman guarding his precious pearl for a sticker concept

If you’d like to grab this month’s goodies, join my Patreon by tonight to get some ✌🏾

Speaking of goodies- thanks to everyone who bought from and supported my first online shop drop! I appreciate the love and hope you’ll enjoy your goods when you get em. The mailers arrived quicker than the prints themselves so I’m guessing Monday at the latest I’ll see them. But for folks who bought just stickers and pins, I’ll be sending out your mail Friday so keep an eye out for your tracking info email.

With the preordering I managed to get a deal on ordering more Perfect Blue and Baklava prints so if you missed the preorder, there are still prints available til I run out.

I also just added April’s patron sticker reward to my shop! For those who were interested in Suddenly Spring stickers, you can grab some before they’re gone (only have less than 10).

I have other shop items in mind down the road (I figured, especially while focusing so much on the Gatsby pitch this month) it’d make sense to just space out drops.

Yes! So the written portions of the pitch for Great Gatsby (the outline with chapters, the summary, the longline, the characters, etc) were finished after my final revisions and sent off to my agent. Now I just have to finish the pitch pages and additional illustrations. Aka when my perfectionism is at its peak. So wish me good luck por favor🫡

I believe that’s all I have to say for now so I’m going to finish by sharing a comic I’ve been anticipating for a while now by Erin or @ zilodak on Twitter called Miss Atom: Secret War. It’s an original mini-comic around 26 pages debuting today for free and looks like a very fun retro sci-fi read.

Alright old sport, thanks for reading, I’ll check back with you soon!

Stay rad, Old Sport,

-Vincent
